Day 1: About Me
Lovejoy has been our home for almost 7 years now, and my husband and I feel so blessed to be raising our five children in this unique community. With three kids already in Lovejoy schools and two more future Leopards, we are ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐น๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ in the long-term success of our district.
Our oldest, ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น๐๐ป, is a 5th grader at Sloan Creek. ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฒ๐น๐น (2nd grade) and ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ (Kindergarten) both attend Hart Elementary. ๐๐๐น๐ถ๐ฎ is 3 and loves attending GEM preschool, and our youngest, ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐น (Lovejoy Class of 2041!), is home with me, trying her best to grow up as fast as possible so she can keep up with her older siblings

Chad and I have been married for 13 years this May, and he enjoys his career in IT consulting. Before transitioning to be a stay-at-home mom, I worked both in education and lawโan experience that has shaped my passion for public education and service to our schools.
In our free time, we love popping popcorn and watching movies, taking turns playing the piano, and spending time with our extended family that lives nearby.

Day 2: My Service
Lovejoy ISD thrives thanks to its incredible network of parents and community members who actively support our schools. Iโve been honored to serve our district in many ways over the years, including:

Through these experiences, I’ve gained a deep understanding of our districtโs strengths, priorities, and challengesโinsight that will help me be an effective, informed, and proactive trustee.

Day 3: My Preparation
Serving as a Lovejoy ISD trustee is a serious responsibilityโone that requires knowledge, preparation, and a deep commitment to our schools. Iโve spent several years learning about our districtโs priorities, operations, challenges, and opportunities so that I can step into this role ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ญ.

I understand the role and responsibilities of a trustee and am deeply familiar with the issues discussed at our school board meetings. If elected, I would be ready to step into the role on Day 1.

As a lawyer, I enjoy reading and interpreting laws and policies! This skill would serve me well in the trustee role.

Iโve served on the Strategic Planning, Capital Planning, and Campus Improvement Committees, gaining valuable insight into our district.

I dedicated time to this unique initiative to obtain firsthand knowledge of our schools, touring campuses and learning from district leaders to understand how Lovejoy ISD operates.

Iโve given countless hours to supporting our schools through various roles and organizations.

Iโve built relationships with local and state leaders, attended legislative updates, and stayed informed on how state policies impact Lovejoy ISD.

Iโve worked with our representatives (Candy Noble, Angela Paxton, and Pam Little) to advocate for Lovejoy students, teachers, and families. Iโve also created charts and summaries to help them understand how state decisions affect our district and student opportunities. (More on this in Day 4’s post!)

Day 4: My Advocacy
Over the years, Iโve been dedicated to advocating for Lovejoy ISD, working to ensure our students, teachers, and families have the resources and support they need to succeed. Here are some of the ways Iโve actively spoken up for our district:

Day 5: My Professional Background
Iโm grateful for the diverse experiences that have shaped my education and career. These experiences have given me a strong foundation to serve our community effectively as a trustee.
Here are my professional qualifications:

My passion for education started early, and my degree gave me insight into how schools operate and how educators plan and deliver excellent instruction to students.

This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of what it takes to support both teachers and students in the classroom.

My legal background has honed my communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

As a commercial litigation attorney on the antitrust team at Norton Rose Fulbright, I helped clients navigate complex issues to find solutions. My background in education gave me the patience and ability to explain complicated legal matters in a clear, accessible way so clients could make informed decisions.
Qualities I Hope to Bring to the Role of Trustee:

Day 6: Six Things I Love About Lovejoy!
